Decorating the Sumpter Christmas Tree

The Christmas season has arrived in Sumpter!

Volunteers gathered at the Stage Stop Gas Station to decorate the Sumpter Christmas Tree today and there was a certain holiday cheer in everyone’s smile as each decoration was added to the tree.  There was no snow on the ground, although there was a hint of snow in the air as kids of all ages helped decorate the Sumpter Christmas tree. It was a special treat to see kids dancing around the tree this year! See some of the photos below……

Community Breakfast

Friends of Sumpter Valley Community will be cooking up another delicious community breakfast this Saturday, Nov 24th from 7-10 am at the Sumpter Community Schoolhouse

475 N. Mill St (just above the Stage Stop Gas Station)

7-8 am will be coffee and conversation….then 8-10 am will be the full breakfast.

There will be sausage patties, bacon, pancakes, and french toast.

They promise there will be no Turkey left overs!  

~ The breakfast is by donation only ~

Sumpter Christmas Celebration – Update

A planning meeting was held last week for Christmas Celebration plans in Sumpter and the following changes have been made….

“Unfortunately the community breakfast will not be held on December 8. However, there will be one on November 24 (we promise there will be NO Turkey at this after Thanksgiving event) and then one on the 29th of December. Come join us for these great community breakfasts at the Community Center – the old Sumpter Schoolhouse, complete with old school bell to call everyone in for breakfast.” Toni Thompson

A Sumpter Christmas Celebration

Sumpter Christmas Parade

Parade will start approx. 5 pm at the Snowmobile Shed…..North along Mill St. to the Stage Stop Gas Station. If you would like to participate, the parade will begin forming at 4 pm at the  Cracker Creek Mining Museum on the South end of Mill St.
